Kristen (she/her) is a certified DONA birth and postpartum doula, birth photographer and Lamaze Childbirth Educator.
Kristen loves supporting families in their vision for birth and walk alongside them to help them welcome their babies into this world. She wants to help them feel safe, loved and supported while amplifying their voices in the birth spaces. She helps families make intentional choices by making an informed decision, having autonomy and having advocacy skills. Kristen knows that we can’t control everything but we can try to stack the cards in our favor by practicing advocacy skills and doing prenatal education before the birth.
She got training through Body Ready Method and Spinning Babies so that she can teach parents on positions in labor that help baby navigate the pelvis. She also got advocacy training through Intentional Birth to help and teach parents how to advocate in labor.
Birth photography is an add-on service and is not included in the Medicaid insurance coverage.
Travel Distance
For birth doula services, Kristen is willing to travel up to an hour and 15 minutes from Jackson, MI. For postpartum doula services, Kristen travels within 30-40 minutes of Jackson, MI. Any further will be considered on a case by case basis.
Other Things to Know
Kristen know and respects the Deaf community and knows some ASL to have a basic conversation. She does have connections to get an ASL interpreter if needed.
